Hey Everyone 🙂
A few weeks ago, a friend of mine posted a few pics of her daughter’s 5th birthday party. I seriously cannot stop looking at the photos…and also wishing I was 5 lol. She did such an amazing job putting it all together, from the homemade cakes to the cute strawberry basket favours. For anyone who may be planning a little one’s birthday party soon (or even something for us adults 😉 ) , she was kind enough to share all her inspiration and ideas with us. All I’m thinking is how much I can’t wait until Amel is old enough for something like this!
“I Love any opportunity to get creative! My daughter loves summer, strawberries, and picnics. I thought what better way to celebrate her birthday than to have her own little picnic. Unfortunately, Canadian spring is pretty unpredictable and we ended up with a freezing cold rainy day! We decided to bring the picnic in, and she couldn’t be happier with the way everything turned out!”
“For as long as I can remember my mom always baked our cakes, and I’m a big believer in passing on traditions.” The cake was inspired by this Strawberry Thyme Cake. The base was a lemon ricotta (which sounded absolutely delicious to me), however I wasn’t sure that the kids would feel the same. I really like the simple natural look of the cake, so I made my own vanilla cake and added a few spoons of strawberry jam to the buttercream. It tasted absolutely delicious!
She also set up another small table with a hand lettered chalkboard
to welcome her guests. To accompany the chalkboard, she put out a jar of liquorice and a variety of strawberry flavoured candies. She then dressed it up with a few fresh strawberry plants that her and her family later planted in the backyard.

I hope you guys enjoyed this adorable party post. I still can’t get enough! Have a nice week!
I have always loved the idea of tea parties – getting all dressed up and enjoying a fancy afternoon with friends. I grew up watching Alice in Wonderland, dreaming to one day have high tea with Mr. Rabbit and the Mad Hatter.
A couple weeks ago my sweetest friend Katie threw the most amazing and well thought out Tea Party for all her family and friends to celebrate her bridal shower. Everything was absolutely perfect from the well steeped tea to the gorgeous decor and especially the most beautiful bride to be. Guests all dressed the part wearing cute spring dresses and stunning fascinators. If you took a walk around the party, you would see vintage tea cups all lined up with hand calligraphy name tags tucked underneath. As well as, the cutest milk containers for guest favours and the most delicious sweets in every direction you looked (Drooling).
Union Jack Tea Room
catered the event and supplied the tiers of scones, cookies, cakes, and cucumber sandwiches of course. Their selection of tea was so nice, especially having an iced option for the warm day we had. A traditional high tea at its finest for sure. Macaroons and Cake were from the best baker in town, Shelby’s Sweet Shoppe
, and they definitely didn’t last long…way way to good.
I’m sure you can tell by my description so far that myself and everyone invited, was completely blown away by Katie’s High Tea Party. I am still looking back at these pictures in awe. They look like they came straight out of a magazine !…Or (if your like me) any of our many dreamed of Pinterest inspired parties. Every direction you looked was filled with everything high tea related and it was wonderful.

A GINORMOUS thank you to my beautiful friend Katie for throwing such an amazing event and allowing me to be a part of it. I was excited beyond words to be celebrating with you!! Just saying you can throw a tea party any time and I will be there!! 😉
